Class 2 covers paints, varnishes, lacquers and coatings, along with colorants, dyes and printing inks. It is the class for products that protect or colour surfaces.

Trademarks in India are registered class by class. To protect your brand in Class 2, a TM-A application is filed for that class with the Trade Marks Registry. If your business spans more than one class, each class is a separate application with its own government fee.
